The Merchant Hotel |

The Merchant Hotel is an intimate, sumptuous, 5 star* hotel, situated in the historical Cathedral Quarter of Belfast’s city centre.
This magnificent Grade A listed property has been sensitively restored to its original splendour, and is quite unlike anything currently available in Belfast.
The Building, which was purpose built as the Head Quarters of The Ulster Bank, was completed in 1860. It is Italianate in style. A dramatic group of sculptures at the apex of the facade depict Britannia, Justice, and Commerce. Groups of tall urns stand on the corners and add to the gracious effect.

The classically styled interiors, reflect the remarkable heritage of the building. From the exclusive Cocktail Bar, to the Great Room Restaurant, the Residents and Members Bar, the Art Gallery and, of course, the 21 bedrooms and 5 suites. All the bedrooms and suites are exceptional, expansive and elegant, with custom made furniture and carefully chosen antiques – an approach that has been adopted throughout the hotel.
The architectural grandeur of the exterior and the opulence of the interior, demand an excellence of service and warmth of welcome that immediately sets our guests at their ease, with an ambiance that embodies luxury and comfort around the clock.
