Location

Queens Quarter
South Belfast

Open since October 2000, Shu (the ancient Egyptian god of atmosphere) is set in a fine Victorian terrace on Belfast's stylish Lisburn Road. Furnished in a contemporary style to create a bright space with lots of natural light, the 90-seater main restaurant interior is by the leading local designer Paul Horscroft.

Shu incorporates a basement cocktail bar, the main ground floor restaurant replete with a theatre-style kitchen, and a private dining room located on the first floor.

Their mission today is the same as from the start – to provide a menu serving simple French-influenced food using the best seasonal ingredients, served at a reasonable price, in an elegant location and with professional, yet relaxed, friendly service.

Shu can host a variety of group reservations including private parties, weddings, birthdays, corporate events, product launches, business dining or charity evenings. They can cater for up to 100 guests to suit your particular requirements.

Their intimate Salon Privé for corporate entertaining can accommodate up to 24 guests with a boardroom style table layout. The Main Dining Room can be booked for private parties of up to 95 guests.

The basement bar area can cater for parties of 65 for a sit down meal or up to 100 guests for buffet style food or canapés. Shu can also supply DJs to suit your event.

Located in the basement of the restaurant, Shu-bar is an excellent place to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail or after dinner dancing or just some moreish Tapas. Shu-bar also provides a great venue for private parties, where they can tailor food and entertainment to your guests’ specific needs. Wednesdays through to Saturday sees some of Belfast's top D.J's spinning the vinyl in Shu-bar.
