Gastro Pub

The House The pubs of Belfast have, over the past ten years, earned a justifiable reputation for quality of product. Ingredients of dishes are fresh and locally sourced and cooked with the care and attention normally found in a top class city restaurant. Most pubs employ professional chefs though there are still a number where the cooking is done entirely by the family and those are the ‘special’ pubs.

Generally pubs provide the fastest service at lunchtime and hence their popularity with business people but you will still find people lingering and savouring the ‘black stuff’ particularly with a dish of oysters or some locally smoked salmon and fresh wheaten bread. Belfast people respect the sun and if there is an outdoor terrace and the day is warm what better way to enjoy a plate of Portavogie Prawns than alfresco!
