McHugh's Interior The Irish Pub is synonymous with warm hospitality. They are known throughout the world as places of welcome and respite ‘far from the madding world’. Combine that with a reputation for great quality, wholesome food and you have the Gastro Pub.

One of the smallest pubs in the city but with one of the biggest reputations is Bittles Bar and just around the corner is The Kitchen Bar equally well know for the standard of its food. Located in a romantic old ‘entry’ is The Morning Star’ a pub whose reputation for good food draws a loyal following of local business people and it boasts probably the most eclectic pub menu in Ireland.

The hustle and bustle of McHughs over the lunchtime is evidence enough of the popularity of its food while just across in the Cathedral Quarter The John Hewitt serves traditional and Cajun food that is much sought after and just a short distance away. The Cloth Ear beside the Merchant Hotel provides homemade ‘comfort’ food all day.

The Crown Liquor Saloon and Robinsons both side by side on Great Victoria Street are known throughout the city as great places to eat. Beside St George’s Market and the Law Courts The Ronnie Drew is a traditional Irish pub serving typical fare. The Tap Room at Hilden Brewery Ireland's oldest independent brewery, in the 19th century courtyard of Hilden House, near Lisburn serves award winning food and is well worth a visit.
