Mary Peters Athletics Track offers athletic facilities. It opened in 1975 and was transferred from Queen’s University to the council in 1985, along with 30 acres of conifer woodland planted out as a shelterbelt. The track is now managed by Athletics Northern Ireland Limited, in association with the council. The site also includes a bottle bank for recycling.
