Health Food Shops

Header Framar Health ShopIt has been said that whoever first created the adage ‘beauty is skin deep’ was in fact talking about good food and a great diet; what you eat is as much part of your beauty regime as anything else. Belfast has a number of great health food shops however Framar Health stands head and shoulders above the rest. This family business is located on the Lisburn Road. The business was originally founded on a partnership between Margaret Maconaghie and her son Paul. For decades the Maconaghie Family have been expert in the use of Herbal and Homoeopathic medicines.

The Lisburn Road is also the location of Eatwell Foods, while a visit to St George’s Market is an introduction to Suki Tea which translates in ancient Japanese as a term for Tea Master and features in the nursery rhyme 'Polly put the kettle on, Suki take it off again'. Tucked away in Lombard Street you will find The Nut-Meg a tiny health food shop which for its size stocks an extraordinary range of foods and natural medicines and is the only independent health food store in central Belfast.
