Arts & Entertainment

The Arts in Belfast are surprisingly comprehensive and are supported with enthusiasm and energy. The cinema going public is both active and discerning and showings are always well attended; so too are the Theatres, Concert Halls and Galleries. There are festivals in all genres throughout the year regardless of the season. Why not check out the world renown Belfast Festival at Queen’s now in its 47th year, an Arts festival that holds its own with Edinburgh and Dublin?

In August the Belfast Maritime Festival celebrates our rich heritage as a seafaring city and this year welcomes The Tall Ships, a spectacle of spectacular proportions never to be missed or the entirely free Festival of Fools which explodes onto the city streets over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend. Coming of age this August with 21 years of growth and innovation is Féile an Phobail, our unique West Belfast Irish Arts Festival with concerts, debates, exhibitions, drama and street theatre at various venues featuring world-class and international acts playing alongside Irish talent.
