The head chef of a Belfast restaurant has become the first in Ulster to scoop a coveted All-Ireland award. Stephen Brothers, from the Lisburn Road restaurant Shu, claimed Senior Chef of the Year title in Dublin.
The 29 year old has brought double success for the bistro, which has also recently been presented with the prestigious AA Seafood Restaurant of the Year for Scotland and Northern Ireland. The popular Lisburn Road restaurant was selected for the honour from hundreds of top UK restaurants. The three year old eaterie produced a seafood menu which impressed the AA judges with its purist approach.
Well established as South Belfast's most popular brasserie style restaurant, Shu has collected many accolades since opening in Autumn 2000. It boasts an 85 seater, ground floor restaurant, a basement cocktail and tapas bar and an intimate Salon Privé for corporate entertaining. Wednesdays through to Saturday sees some of Belfast's top D.J's spinning the vinyl in Shu-bar.
