Belfast Maritime Festival Charities
Belfast Tall Ships 2009 Ltd. have selected a number of charities
which will be supported through at the event.
The charities who will be present at the Festival are the Royal
National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), Marine Society and Sea
Cadets, Ocean Youth Trust Ireland and Belfast Lough Sailability
part of RYA Sailability.
The RNLI
provides a 24-hour lifesaving service around the UK and the
Republic of Ireland. Their volunteer crews give up their time and
comfort to carry out rescues in difficult and often dangerous

The Marine Society and Sea Cadets aim to
provide personal development opportunities and support in a marine
context for young people and professional sea farers from all the

Ocean Youth Trust Ireland is dedicated
to providing young people resident in Ireland, from all walks of
life and backgrounds, the opportunity to participate in the unique

Belfast Lough Sailability
is a charity of the Royal Yachting Association which offers people
who think they can’t even get on a boat let alone sail it, the
