Dublin
Starting out from Dublin Airport, the M1 Motorway is well
signposted for Belfast; this is a toll road and there is one Toll
Plaza approximately 31 km from Dublin Airport. Continue on
this Motorway signposted for Belfast. Just after passing the
City of Newry the road becomes a dual carriageway (A1) and Motorway
regulations fall away. At the Sprucefield roundabout
(approximately 137 km from Dublin Airport) the A1 joins the M1
motorway (signposted The North, Belfast). Once within the Greater
Belfast area the signs will display as City Centre. At Grosvenor
Road Junction (approximately 152 km) leave the motorway and follow
signs City Centre onto the B38.

Starting out from Enniskillen, the M1 Motorway is
well signposted The North, Belfast. Once within the Greater Belfast
area the signs will display as City Centre. At Grosvenor Road
Junction (approximately 133 km) leave the motorway and follow signs
City Centre onto the B38.
Arrive in style
Hop into a cab at George Best Belfast City Airport and you can
be checking into your city centre hotel ten minutes later, add just
fifteen minutes to that time from Belfast International Airport.
Don’t want to blow the budget? There are trains (from George Best
Belfast City Airport) and buses that will ease you into the centre
along motorways in no time, while ferries arriving from Scotland
and England take you right into the city.
Arrive at…George Best Belfast City Airport
George Best Belfast City Airport is a mere 10 minutes from the
centre of Belfast, on the A2, Sydenham bypass road between Belfast
and Holywood, on the southern shore of Belfast Lough. There are
numerous car hire companies in the main terminal building.
A shuttle bus service operates between the airport terminal and
nearby rail halt at Sydenham, from where there is a twice-hourly
(0600 – 1800) Monday - Friday rail service to Central Station and
Great Victoria Street Station. The service is hourly after 1800hrs
and on Saturday and Sunday.
Flexibus operate an Airlink every 20 minutes from the Airport
terminal to the Europa Bus Centre in the city centre. The service,
Flexibus route No. 600, operates between 06:00 and 21:50.
No. 3 Metrobus operates every 20 minutes from Sydenham bus stop
to City Hall. It is a five-minute walk from the Airport terminal to
the bus stop. Approved taxis operate from the airport taxi rank
directly outside the terminal building.
Arrive at…Belfast International Airport
Belfast International Airport is only 25 minutes away from
Belfast city centre by car via the M2 motorway. There are numerous
car hire desks located in the arrivals hall, all of which remain
open for all inbound flights. From the airport terminal, follow the
signs for Belfast, through Templepatrick village and then onto the
M2 motorway.
A regular bus service with Ulsterbus links the airport with the
city centre at both the Laganside Buscentre (near the Waterfront
Hall) and the Europa Buscentre (near the Europa Hotel). Journey
time is approximately 35 minutes. Taxis are also available at the
terminal building.
The
Airporter provides direct coach connections between
the Belfast International Airport and George Best Belfast City
Airport. There are a variety of ways for you to reserve a seat on
any of the Airporter services. All passengers are advised to make a
reservation. Reservations are FREE, and they guarantee a seat and
you only pay on the day you travel.
Arrive at…Dublin Airport
There is a regular Translink Express coach
service to Belfast that operates on a 24 hour, on the hour, basis
from just outside the arrivals terminal (www.translink.co.uk/timetableshome.asp).
Arrive at…Central Station
Central Station is Belfast’s main railway station. It is located
close to the Waterfront Hall and St George’s Market - about a ten
minute walk from the City Hall and the city centre. A free bus link
will bring you from the station into the city centre on production
of your train ticket. This service runs every twenty minutes but
stops at 9:15pm. There is a taxi rank outside the station.
Arrive at…Belfast Harbour
The Stena HSS Belfast terminal is located at Corry Road,
approximately 1.5 km from the city centre. This is a modern
terminal with good facilities and there is a taxi rank outside.
